CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Many young people and children face ever - increasing stress and pressure particularly since the COVID Lockdown. Pressures such as school work, examinations and university choices, social media and on-going world events alongside the natural process of adolescence can leave a child or young person feeling unsettled, confused and anxious. Counselling offers a safe and confidential space where they can talk freely about what's going on for them and I can listen carefully and come to understand their inner world and what they are feeling. Talking to a trained and unbiased person outside of the family can often bring immense relief and understanding to a child or young person.
With young children my approach is often more creative and we might use drawing, sand tray, puppets and imaginative play. This can be very helpful for children who struggle to describe their thoughts and feelings.
Counselling for Young People and Children can help with:
~ Parental Separation
~ Divorce
~ Relationship and Friendship Challenges
~ Bullying
~ Exam Stress
~ Anxiety
~ Suicidal Ideation
~ Grief and Loss
~ Angry and Aggressive Behaviour
~ Low Mood
~ Self - esteem
~ Confidence
~ Self Harm
~ Trauma and Abuse
